Doug

Doug
PT, Clinic Manager

Hello, my name is Doug, and I am the clinic manager for Cottage Rehab and Sports Medicine in Monmouth, and Advanced Rehab and Sports Medicine in Aledo.  I attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1992.  I then went on to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from SIU-C in 1993.  I have been practicing physical therapy for 28 years, and have worked for Advanced Rehab for 17 of those years.  I enjoy working with a wide variety of patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics; from the competitive athlete to the weekend warrior, and everything in between.  I have a strong manual therapy and strength/conditioning background that I utilize in my treatment approach for all my patients.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering at my church, and cycling/mountain biking.

Jon

Jon
DPT

Hello, my name is Jonathon. I am a physical therapist at the Aledo clinic. I have been practicing PT since 2012. I received my doctorate in physical therapy at Bradley University and my BS in kinesiology from University of Illinois. I enjoy all aspects of physical therapy but see mainly an outpatient population of patients. I believe a hands on approach along with exercise help most people heal the best. My favorite part of therapy is helping people achieve their goals. I also perform functional capacity evaluations and help design work conditioning programs to help people return to work. When not working I like spending time with my wife and kids. I like volunteering in several groups locally. To relax I like to do woodworking projects.

Jill

Jill
DPT

I completed my undergraduate at the University of Illinois in Kinesiology, then received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Des Moines University. I like treating shoulder pathologies because there are a variety of treatment strategies based on the patient’s limitations. The shoulder complex encompasses many joints that serve as the connecting points of the upper appendage to the torso – I think that’s so cool. Also, helping patients regain pain-free usage of their arms is very rewarding. I also enjoy treating neck pain/headaches, pelvic floor dysfunction, and ankle/foot pathologies.

First and foremost, I love working with people. I love learning their stories, history, passions, and how they came to be sitting in front of me. It’s a profession that allows me to directly implement my love of sports & wellness into a career where I work with people, and help them achieve their goals and return to the activities they love.

When I’m not working, I take so much pride in being “Auntie Joel”. I love hanging out with my sisters and their babies, my parents, my Grandpa Ted. Really my whole family – we have fun together. I love to travel and experience new places, find new ways to stay active (HIIT, yoga, cycling, hiking), snacks, reading, and the occasional Netflix binge.

Bloomington

Drew

Drew
DPT, Clinic Manager

Hello! My name is Drew and I am a Physical Therapist and clinic manager at the Bloomington clinic. I have been with Advanced for 7 years. I received my bachelor’s degree in exercise science from ISU in 2010 and my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Governors State University in 2013. I love working with a variety of different patients to help restore function and return them to their prior activity level. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters, 2 Australian cattle dogs, and 1 Siamese cat. We are usually swimming, going on family bike rides, doing arts and crafts, movie nights, and just keeping busy. In my free time I am an avid weight lifter, wood worker, and love the outdoors.

Jennifer

Jennifer
PTA

Hello! My name is Jenny and I have been a PTA here at Advanced for 5 years. I graduated from Governors State University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I quickly learned that I enjoyed the physical health atmosphere more and went to PTA school at Illinois Central College and graduated in 2015. Prior to my PTA career I was a Massage Therapist for 7 years and wanted to further my knowledge and skills in manual therapy. I enjoy working with all sorts of patients with various ailments including post-operative care, TMJ disorders, low back pain, hips, shoulders, balance, and many more. I enjoy working out myself and love teaching my patients multiple ways to work different muscle groups to help them get stronger and improve their quality of life. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, 2 Australian cattle dogs, and 1 Siamese cat. We are usually swimming, going on family bike rides, doing arts and crafts, movie nights, and just keeping busy. I am an avid runner and ran my first full marathon in 2019. I am also a major book lover so you can find me reading with a cup of coffee in hand while watching a thunderstorm. If I wasn’t a PTA I would be a meteorologist chasing tornadoes!

Andrea

Andrea
PTA

My name is Andrea, I am a Physical Therapist Assistant at the Bloomington clinics. I graduated from Illinois Central College in 2017. I started my career with Advanced Rehab and Sports Medicine soon after graduation. In the past two years my experience has been focused on physical therapy at a Podiatrist Office. I enjoy the opportunity to travel to multiple clinics in the Bloomington area and work with patients in various age groups and backgrounds. Outside of work, my husband, Matt and I are trying to keep up with our almost three year old son, Jordan, and 10 month old daughter, Emmalee. Any chance we get, we love to have dance parties and play outside.

Donnie

Donnie
PTA

Hello! My name is Donnie. I graduated from Heartland’s PTA program in 2019 and joined the Advanced team a few months later. During my time here, I have come to meet and work with a plethora of patients with various diagnoses. I found that I quite enjoy working with ankles, knees, and hips! My favorite part about PT is the manual therapy – it is fun to find and get at tight muscles.  Knowing the patient will feel relief afterwards is motivation enough for me!

When I am not working with patients, I am at home with my family. We have a cat, 2 parakeets, 2 hermit crabs, a rosy boa, and an aquarium with all sorts of fish! Whenever I can, I love to snack and sleep. It makes my day when Minzy, my cat, joins me for a cat nap!

Eleanor

Eleanor
ATC

Eleanor graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelors in Athletic Training and a double minor in psychology and nutrition in 2015. Eleanor has been with our Advanced family for 5 years now first working at our Clinton contract before transferring to our Bloomington clinic.

As an athletic trainer Eleanor can be found treating patients in the clinic and evaluating and managing athletic injuries for our local high school and collegiate teams. On any day she can go from treating a hamstring strain in the clinic, to applying first aid on the football field, to managing a concussion return to play protocol. Eleanor’s favorite part of being an athletic trainer is solving the mechanical puzzles of the human body.

When Eleanor isn’t on the sidelines or at the clinic she enjoys spending time outdoors in her garden, playing guitar at church, watching her favorite Disney movie or eating her weight in ice cream!

Dan
PT, MS, Cert MDT, CAFS, CKTP

My interest in physical therapy was sparked during high school when I received treatment from a local PT for injuries sustained during football activities. During treatment, I learned that physical therapists are specialized in treating a multitude of injuries and conditions to return people to their prior level of function or even better. I pursued my career in PT by graduating from Augustana College with a major in Psychology and a concentration in pre-physical therapy. I then attended Washington University School of Medicine — Program in Physical Therapy and received my Master of Science in PT in 1992. I have been working with Advanced Rehab and Sports Medicine Services since 1998. Over the years, I have achieved certifications in applied functional science, kinesiotaping and mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine to help me better assist people seeking help. I enjoy the challenge of working with clients to help them return to their previous level of function after injury or surgery and celebrating the successes along the way. I enjoy spending time with my wife, who is an educator, and my 3 young adult children. I am a grill/BBQ enthusiast and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors hunting, fishing, ‘shrooming and tending to my bees (when I’m not getting stung!)
